We at Oakfield Physiotherapy Clinic specialise in podiatry and chiropody, this is one of our specialised services we offer where everyone reports an improvement in their foots health after having our podiatry and chiropody therapy!

What is podiatry and chiropody you ask?
Podiatry and chiropody are the same thing, with podiatry being the more modern name for the therapy.

A podiatrist is a health care professional of which have been trained to diagnose and prevent, treat or rehabilitate any abnormal conditions regarding the feet as well as the lower limbs. They also prevent and correct deformity, keep people mobile and active, relieve pain and treat infections.

They will usually give you as the client, as well as your family, advice on how to look after your feet following and during therapy, as well as inform you of the best footwear to wear. A podiatrist can also easily and effectively alleviate day-to-day foot problems, which include:
  • dry and cracked heels
  • Sports Injuries via a sports massage therapy
  • ageing feet
  • toenail problems, such as thickened, fungal or ingrown toenails
  • smelly feet
  • flat feet
  • bunions
  • gout
  • blisters
  • athletes foot
  • verrucas
  • And a lot more!
How can we help?
We can help in quite a few ways, we can of course offer advice and treatment for any of the above treatment. We can also supply you with orthotics, which are custom, tailor-made insoles , padding and arch supports to to relieve foot pain.

Even if your feet are generally in good condition, you might consider having a single session of podiatry to have the hard skin on your feet removed, toenails clipped, to find out if you’re wearing the right shoes (take your shoes with you for specific advice on footwear) or just to check that you’re looking after your feet properly.

If this all sounds good then why don't you get in touch and book a consultation!
